Flip Flops, Socks and Small Stuffed Toys
The Red Thread includes flip flops, socks and small stuffed toys in their Shawl and Warm gift packages when they are sent
to needy children. While these items are very inexpensive, they can mean the world to an orphan or needy child. In addition
to inclusion in the gift packages, these items will also be distributed to our missionaries when they are in the US picking
up supplies for trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic, as well as to adoptive parents traveling abroad to bring home
their child. These adoptive parents leave kits behind for the other children.
Please consider an individual donation of flip flops, socks and small stuffed toys or organizing a group donation. Family donations are a fun way to reach out to family members to join together for a good cause. Church group and employee donations can be done successfully with minimal effort.
"Our 2006 Vacation Bible School (VBS) decided to support The Red Thread because of the importance of reaching out to
others in need in the same way that The Red Thread touches those most in need... orphaned children. Our 5th, 6th and 7th
graders led this project by designing and distributing flyers to announce our collection project to all VBS participants.
The original goal was to collect 150 pairs of flip-flops and/or socks over the course of one week. God was truly at work
in the hearts of those attending our VBS as the final number reached nearly 400 pairs!" ~ Allie Sberna,Youth Director,
