Meeting Our Goals
Each of our activities and fundraisers are designed so people of all ages and talents can
participate in The Red Thread’s philanthropic efforts and know that they are part of a team
dedicated to helping children in need. TRT seeks out those with a good heart, willing spirit
and "I want to make a difference" attitude. Together, we can increase the well-being of
humankind, starting with the smallest members of society.
If you knit, your talents may fall into our Shawl Ministry, where hand-knitted shawls which have a red thread incorporated into the design, are sent to children around the world. This ministry was designed to help other needy children even while we are identifying and helping orphans with medical care. Perhaps you sew and want to be a part of our WARM (Wrap Your Arms ‘Round Me) Ministry where we send fleece blankets and scarves to children in need of warmth and comfort. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, can ride a bike and want to participate, we have Dream Ride, a great way to get in touch with nature and connect to others worldwide.
In 2006, we expanded our outreach to help missionaries who work with children in various countries. Generous contributions have already sent aid to children the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
